The market spoke loudly in favour of Art Of Security in the mile-and-five maiden at Navan and he duly did the business for Noel Meade and Jonathan Moore.

The High Chaparral gelding who proved a smart sort over timber last season was backed from 7/1 this morning and went to post the 2/1 joint favourite.

He was produced to challenge, travelling well, over two furlongs from home and stuck on well when asked for an effort over a furlong out.

The seven-year-old went on to record a three-parts of a length success over 20/1 shot Tale Of Woe

It was a first winner on the Flat for Moore, who was able to claim 3lb on the level.

“He loves soft ground and it was all about staying. The plan is to go to Down Royal for a two-mile handicap hurdle next week,” said Meade.

“He wasn’t really firing in the spring but he worked very well the other day and seems to have come back in after the break a sweeter, nicer horse.”
