Summer's Dream takes finale for Doyle family The concluding Thank You For Your Support In 2019 Handicap (Division 2) at the Curragh proved a real triumph for the Doyle family as Summer’s Dream swooped late to land the spoils. Trained by Tim Doyle for his wife Claire and ridden by their daughter Emma, who was partnering her second winner, the victory seemed unlikely as Lady Savanah shot clear over a furlong. Danny Sheehy’s mount held a four lengths advantage at this point but the margin was gradually eroded inside the final furlong as Summer’s Dream got up to score by half-a-length. Piper Bomb was two and a half lengths away in third with Count Of Carabass in fourth. Tim Doyle said, “That was great. It's a good job they put on this meeting for us. We are getting a raw deal with these sort of horses. She's never run a bad race all year and would have run a lot more if she had got into races. “She has to have a cut in the ground. She's honest and tough. It's great to get a win with her before the year is out. This was her last chance I'd say. I'm not sure if we'll get another chance on grass and I'm not sure if she's a Dundalk filly. We may try it but I think she prefers grass. “She's improving all the time and she has a great pedigree so if we can win a few more she'd make a grand broodmare.” (GC & AM)
