In-form Logo Hunter was mightily impressive in putting a quality field of sprinters to the sword in the Listed Sole Power Sprint Stakes at Naas.

A Ste Too Far was pushed along to lead early by Declan McDonogh as the field charged from the stalls to tackle this minimum trip.

Logo Hunter raced in the second rank alongside Gustavus Weston and Indigo Balance He moved in pursuit of the leader after two furlongs and readily took over a furlong and a half down.

He powered clear under Seamie Heffernan inside the final furlong and sluiced home by four and a quarter lengths at 11/2. Back To Brussels (8/1) and Romantic Proposal (20/1) came in second and third respectively.

Trainer Michael Browne said: “I couldn’t describe the feeling — It’s unreal.

“Seamie was adamant the whole time that he was a Group One sprinter and he’s right. I was doubtful with all the rain but Seamie told me to run him.

“There is a race in Mallow in a bit over a fortnight’s time (the Listed Midsummer Sprint on June 9) that he’ll probably go for. I’d like to have run him in the Commonwealth Cup but he can’t go there as he’s a gelding.

“That’s his trip, five furlongs, and he’ll be a lot better on better ground. He doesn’t need any work, just keep him fresh.

“Unfortunately, he’ll probably be sold but he’s given me some thrill up to now.”

Logo Hunter won a handicap at Cork in April and was runner-up in Listed class when last seen in the Committed Stakes at Navan. His form has been working out well.

That Listed race in Navan was the experienced trainer's first runner in that company.
