Dermot Weld saddled his seventh winner of the last fortnight as I’m Yours impressed in the Listed Victor McCalmont Memorial Stakes at Gowran Park.

It was jockey Pat Smullen’s eighth winner in the same period and brought up a quick-fire double on the day as he guided Gone Viral home in the previous race.

The 5/2 favourite raced in fourth behind clear leader We’ll Go Walking. She contested third with half a mile to go and at the two pole got her head in front and powered on for a two and a half length decision.

She beat We’ll Go Walking (9/1) into second and Coolibah (66/1) into third. The gamble on Mizzava (9/2 to 11/4) went awry as she was three parts of a length out of the places in fourth. Exotic was eased down in the home straight to come home eighth of the nine runners.

Dermot Weld said: “The horses are running extremely well and they are healthy. Pat is giving them great rides.

“I only entered one horse in this race. I thought the track would suit her. The ground was a bit more testing than we wanted. The mile one and 150 yards here is easier than the mile and a quarter at Navan.

"That was a good performance. This has been a lucky race for us, we have won it several times and it is always nice to win it.

“She is a beautifully-bred filly which means she is of immense value and hopefully she will go on now and win a Group race. I wouldn’t be in a rush to run her again soon. She’s a beautifully-bred filly and I’d love to win a Group race with her next.

“The ground was my main concern coming here today as it is very sticky, but she is very adaptable. She ran well at Navan and she had a tough enough race there today on that ground so I will take it easy with her for a while now. That is our 20th winner of the season."

Weld won this race in 2010 with Chinese White and then last year with Caponata.
