Noel Meade recorded a double at Limerick today when his Gay Sloane landed the Irish Mirror Handicap Hurdle, half an hour after The Fist Of God opened the Co Meath trainer's tally.
Injuries to jockeys on firm ground is an unappealing side to summer jump racing and Gay Sloane's rider Davy Condon was substituting for yesterday's injured Paul Carberry and Niall Madden, who himself was taken for x-rays on his shoulder following a fall in the opening race tonight.
Winning trainer Meade later reported "Gay Sloane will now be entered in the Galway Hurdle and maybe hurdling has sparked his interest again following a few disappointing Flat runs."
