Silk Cravat gained a fourth career win and a second for his current trainer John Geoghegan at Dundalk today as the six year old gelding landed LMFM Dual Race Night 3rd May Handicap under jockey Ben Coen.
The son of Kyllachy had previously won on his first start for Geoghegan at today's venue in March 2018 and today scored a length and three parts win over Footsteps At Dawn
Afterwards Geoghegan stated “I was a little bit surprised and thought he would find it hard to turn around the form with Gavin’s horse (Nisior Donn). He can be a tricky so and so but Ben gave him a super ride.
“He came out of the race well on Saturday. He’s tough and he came off the grass really well and the ground was lovely. Hopefully he will come off this as well as the grass.
“He’s rated a lot lower on the grass so we’ll probably go back to that and see how we get on.”
