Shot From The Hip (7/2) for Edward O’Grady and Mark Walsh got up close home to deny the front running Regal D’Estruval victory in the www.malton.com Chase over 2m 4f.

The Jim Culloty trained, Tom Doyle ridden Regal D’Estruval (9/1) lead from flag fall but on the run to the last he was joined on either side by Zaarito and Shot From The Hip.

The trio jumped it virtually together and while the 9/10 favourite Zaarito folded soon after, the other two had a ding-dong battle with Shot From The Hip just getting his head in front near the line, prevailing by a neck.

The winner, who is an 8yo son of Monsun, was bouncing back to form today having had an ultimately disappointing campaign after winning his novice chase at Fairyhouse in January.

Winning trainer Edward O'Grady said afterwards: "That is small compensation for losing Corbally Cross earlier (was put down after breaking his leg).

"The better ground suited him today and he may stay in training now and get an entry in the Galway Plate."
