Beat Of The Sea got up close home to deny the odds-on favourite in the Bloomfield House Hotel Mares Hurdle.
The Seamus Fahey trained victor filled the runner-up spot on two occasions in April, but disappointed on her last start at Downpatrick.
Sent off a 10/1 chance this afternoon, the daughter of Born To Sea was settled in mid-division by Ryan Treacy and was fifth with a circuit to race.
She took closer order from the second last and while soon short of room, she powered through to lead when ridden on the run-in, going on to score by a length and a half. Dolly Dancer who was returned the 10/11 favourite, was the one just denied, after Brian Hayes attempted to make all on this Emmet Mullins trained five-year-old. Gotthenod completed the places another half a length back in third, with this one returned at 8/1.
Fahey, who trains the winner for Michael & Sean Allen, said: "Ryan got into a bit of bother but lucky enough she was good for him. She pinged the last even though she didn't have a lot of light at it, and she battled all the way up to the line.
"She wasn't winning out of turn. She disappointed us in Downpatrick the last day, possibly it was due to her first run in a handicap and maybe I went back too quick with her.
"She had run well around here which is a big plus, and we might come back here for something."
