Owner Orla Cleary-O’Kane saw her colours carried to victory for the second day in-a-row as Sang Tiger delivered in the Albany Hurdle at Navan.
Yesterday in Downpatrick Obispo scored for her with Adrian Heskin doing the steering. Heskin was on board Sang Tiger today and got first run on his rivals as he sent his mount into the lead after two out.
While the others jostled in behind, Heskin drove him on to win by two and three quarter lengths at 13/2. Sang Tiger was relatively friendless having been 9/2 before racing.
The 3/1 co favourites came home second, third and fourth in this seven-runner race. Grand Partner was the one placed in second under Paul Townend, who leads the jump jockeys title race.
Trainer James Lambe said: “He’s a nice horse and I’ve always thought a lot of him. He ran very well in Galway, and was only beaten about five lengths under 10st in the Ulster Cesarewitch.
“I was more hopeful than confident today as I was a bit concerned about the ground. He won a schooling bumper in very soft ground.”
