Rubio Draco travels ever so well on soft ground Joseph O'Brien's Rubio Draco tanked into contention before outgunning his rivals in the opening median auction maiden for juveniles in Killarney. The 3/1 favourite moved ominously well on the shoulder of a scrubbed-along One Boss before going on over a furlong from home. Declan McDonogh rode him to assert in the final 150 yards and he had a willing partner who ran on well to score by a comfortable length and a half. Gunsight kept on for second and was certainly backed down to an SP of 13/2. He was half a length in front of Genuine Article (4/1). Assistant trainer Brendan Powell said: "He is by Fast Company, liked the ground and Dec (McDonogh) said it is riding on the soft side. "He said he is learning a lot, travelled lovely the whole way and said he quickened up today, which he hadn't done before as he usually just keeps galloping. "Experience is a help around here and he stays well." Rubio Draco got off the mark at the third time of asking having been placed on second start at the Curragh last month.
