Rosebud provides Lordan with double in finale The Pat Martin trained Lady Rosebud gained a maiden win at Dundalk today, landing the concluding Bar One Racing Handicap under a well timed ride from Wayne Lordan, who was completing a double on the day. The daughter of Sir Prancealot arrived with a late challenge along the running rail and edged ahead in the closing stages for a narrow win over Sheisdiesel. Martin later commented “That’s good - eventually! “I really fancied her two runs back but it just didn’t happen and the last day, six (furlongs) was a bit sharp for her but she still ran a good race. “She was a good bit better than her mark was and it’s just great to see her win. We had her mother and I think she won seven races between hurdling and the Flat - she wasn’t as precocious as this one was early on. “We’ll have a nice bit of fun with her and she has a lovely owner (Derek Molloy).” By Tom Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
