Roscommon preview Forever Gold seeks back-to-back victories in the feature Follow Us On Twitter Handicap Chase as Roscommon's 2015 season gets under way this evening. Eddie Cawley's eight-year-old has since won over hurdles at Navan in February, but he is coming off a pulled-up run at Punchestown and should appreciate the drop down in distance. The race looks competitive and handicap debutant The Doorman, who wears a first-time tongue strap, is sure to prove popular with punters. Final Gift, who won at Tipperary on Thursday, is another likely to feature prominently in the betting, while Never Complain, Mr Goodenough and Elsie are other leading contenders. Jarob and Sambremont are the stand-out names in the Follow Us On Facebook Beginners Chase, while the Malcolm Denmark-owned Contempt Of Court looks the one to side with in the bumper. It is a mixed meeting and the Ger Lyons-trained Azzuri, who has some good efforts to his name, should be able to get off the mark in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden. The Roscommon Handicap is a much more open affair with Acid, Nice Vintage, Chaplin Bay, Pat Harkin and No Way Jack a few for the shortlist. Kaleefa, who will be wearing a first-time visor, finished a close-up fourth on her last start at Limerick and is likely to go off favourite for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden. Askmour ran a fine race on her debut at Dundalk last month and she is an obvious danger, while When In Doubt is an interesting contender for Lyons. Madeira Classic was a good winner at Navan last month and he bids to follow up in the Connolly's Red Mills Horse Care Cubes Handicap. The Christy Roche-trained gelding faces stiff opposition here in the shape of recent Gowran winner Tawseef and the consistent Dancingwithangels. Others to consider in this competitive contest are Ceylon, Midfield General (in first-time blinkers), Captainofthefleet and handicap debutant Senior Counsel.
