Willie and Patrick Mullins teamed up to take the bumper for the third successive day at Leopardstown as Redemption Day made a deeply impressive debut in the Midland Legal Solicitors INH Flat Race.
The four-year-old son of Blue Bresil cruised past the front-running Bravo Team over a furlong out and Patrick Mullins hardly moved a muscle as he stretched clear in great style.
The 8/11 favourite crossed the line a facile four-and-a-half lengths ahead of Music Drive with Tag Man another three lengths away in third.
Willie Mullins, who was recording an across the card four-timer on the day, said “He's a lovely young horse, by Blue Bresil. I bought him out of Pat Doyle's nursery and from the time we started to work him he showed us that he could be good bumper material.
“Today I think he's even better than what he showed me at home. I'm very happy with him.
“We'll probably be looking at coming back here for the Dublin Racing Festival and certainly looking at the big bumper.”
Paddy Power were impressed cutting Redemption Day into 6/1 (from 25/1) for the Cheltenham Bumper.
