Realief as Beggy gets Great home

On the gallop seems to be the place to be at Gowran this evening as third race winner, Great Realief struck on entering the straight in the Early Bird Green Fees At Gowran Park Handicap and stayed on well under Padraig Beggy to see off Rosa Dieci by a length and a half.

Owned and trained by Pat Martin, this son of Desert Style was fourth here last time, on April 25th, after having the opening five runs of his career at Dundalk.

Martin said of the bottom weight, who was returned as the 7/1 co favourite (from 9): "This fellow needs firm ground and he drifted to the left here last time and that might have been due to the ground. He is a live-wire, not the easiest to handle, but Padraig knows him well. He is riding well (Beggy had a double at Dundalk on Saturday)."
