Politeo off mark on Irish debut French recruit Politeo made a winning debut over timber for Paul Nolan when left to come home clear in the Moycarkey Hurdle. Davy Russell's mount had led at the second last but was strongly pressed by Asymmetric Sam going to the final flight. That rival crashed out, however, leaving Politeo to record a seven-length verdict over Hail Caesar. "It's nice to make a winning debut. We'll stick him in a winners race now and see where we go then," said Nolan. "Davy did a great job. He settled and jumped very quick and well. I would have been disappointed if he didn't run well as his work at home has been very good. "He's a horse with a bit of a knee action that would suggest he would act on soft ground but that's probably as soft as he has encountered. Hopefully he'll improve."
