Crown Pleasure ran on strongly in the closing stages to get up close home in another close finish at Wexford this afternoon.
The Tom McCourt-trained filly had been knocking on the door over hurdles and on the Flat and made the breakthrough with a narrow success.
Rory Cleary was rowing along on the 10/1 shot turning for home but she picked up well in the closing stages to nab Lomi's Law at the death for a neck success.
It was the first winner since February for McCourt who said:-
"That has been a long time coming. It has been a nightmare of a season so far.
"The horses haven't been running that bad they just haven't been getting their heads in front. Hopefully we will pick up a few now.
"She stays well and the cheekpieces helped her a bit. She is honest and she will probably get a bit further than that."
Cleary added:- "She's been very consistent. Tom fancied her a lot and said beforehand that she would win. I'm riding a long time for Tom and that's my first winner for him so it's great.
"Tom filled me with confidence beforehand. He said to sit where ever she travelled and that she'd get away through the ground and see it out all the way to the line.
"Coming down into the dip I didn't think I was going to get there, she kind of hit a bit of a flat spot, but once she hit the rising ground she rallied home well."
