Pats Choice made all in the first division of the opening maiden hurdle at Navan.

He snapped a run of five runner-up finishes in a row with this success.

The five-year-old gelding soon moved clear under Davy Russell. They had a reduced advantage after the last but stayed on well up the hill to score by four and three quarter lengths.

He was returned the 2/1 favourite from 11/4 runner-up Estepona Sun Morning Logic (18/1) was another three lengths back in third.

Elliott said: "He put his head in front. Look they are bang on the inside, so we said we would make plenty of use of him and let him stride along. I'd say it paid dividends, come and catch me if you can.

"He did (find), I'd say he stays and he's a big stayer. He ran well and we are happy.

"We'll keep him going while the weather stays as it is."
