Handicap debutant Lisieux led home a one-two for trainer Ado McGuinness in the Irish EBF Auction Series Nursery.
Ronan Whelan took his time on the 12/1 chance who moved up to challenge inside the final quarter mile. She was driven clear inside the final furlong to beat stablemate Distillate third at Dundalk on Friday evening, by two and a half lengths.
Stable representative Stephen Thorne, “She’s a filly that we bought for ten grand at the Breeze Up in Goresbridge and has taken a bit of time to come to hand.
“She was an atypical Breeze Up horse in that she wasn’t ready to run. She was fizzy and we had to let her down and give her time.
“She has pretty much learned on the job from run to run and the plan was to come here with a huge pot of money for the grade of the race.
“Her family are bred to handle juice in the ground so we were hopeful that she would handle it.
“It was a fantastic result and she is owned in partnership by Shamrock Thoroughbreds and Mr (Gerard) Augustin-Normand who is a big supporter of the stable as well.”
