Offer landed his first victory with a facile outing in the one mile five furlongs maiden at Navan.
The three-year-old son of Montjeu, trained by Aidan O’Brien and ridden by Joseph, was sent off at the prohibitive odds of 1/9, having been 1/7 in the morning.
He led from start to finish and won by a snug four and a quarter lengths without his jockey having to get serious with him.
The winner was following up on a second placed finish at Tipperary on debut when beaten half a length at odds of 9/10 by Hartani on 3rd May on heavy ground. Civil War on his first racecourse appearance, put in a noteworthy effort to finish second. Trained by Charles O’Brien and ridden by Fran Berry he moved into contention three furlongs but couldn’t reel in the winner despite keeping on. He rewarded each way punters at 20/1.
Only seven horses went to post. Tucker Casey proved best of the remainder for Noel Meade and Colm O’Donoghue, but he was four and a quarter lengths in arrears of the runner-up at the finish.
