O'Keeffe registers first training win Trainer Con O’Keeffe recorded his first winner at Tramore today when his well supported Kilbarry Marien (10/1 — 7/1) landed the concluding Dunhill (Ladies Pro/Am) Bumper under Sheila Ahern. Ahern produced the winner with her challenge on the outer in the dip and in the end edged to the front inside the final furlong for a three parts of a length win over Max Moonhead. Afterwards O'Keeffe stated: "She ran respectable the first day in Punchestown. She has been working well, and we've done a few bits with her on the Curragh since. We were hopeful but you never know in these races. The good ground was a help to her. "I've only a few in training and that's my first winner. I train only four or five miles up the road. "We might try her in a winners of one now, we will see how she comes out of the race. If she comes on well we might try blacktype with her. "We have the family, we have the mother and it would be nice to keep the breeding going." The winner is co-owned by Orthopaedic Surgeon Tadhg O'Sullivan whose patients have included numerous jockeys.
