O'Flynn doubles up with Cregane Ned Cregane Ned cut down God Help Us on the run-in of the two and a quarter mile maiden hurdle in Clonmel to give trainer Paul O'Flynn a quick-fire double. God Help Us had got the better of Priory Park just before the last but Cregane Ned was far from done with. Phillip Enright switched him out and the pair jumped the final flight well and swiftly passed God Help Us inside the final 100 yards. The pair won going away by five lengths at 4/1. Runner-up God Help Us certainly outran his 66/1 odds. Sir Jack West came through for third at 8/1, beaten eight and a quarter lengths by the victor. O'Flynn said: "He has loads of ability but he's a bit 'in the head' and you have to relax him. "He was working very well at home and, while he might want better ground, you can never be too cocky with him and what he's going to do. "He had a very good run at Thurles - the run before that he worked himself up before the race and was distressed. The main thing today was to get him to settle and, if he settles, he'll put his right foot forward. "He's a tough, old bugger though and hopefully he can pick up another one now. "That's my second double and I've no more runners for the day!" O'Flynn's Quarry Lil took the preceding race on the card - the mares' handicap over two miles. Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
