Having finished second on his debut over the course and distance last Saturday, Kingston Jamaica managed to go one place better this evening as he took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Limerick.
Ridden by Seamie Heffernan and trained by Aidan O’Brien the son of Galileo was sent to post the 1-2 favourite after finishing just two lengths second to Probably last weekend.
Having disputed the lead after breaking from the stalls the winner then hit the front at the halfway stage. He was ridden to assert a furlong and a half from home and went on from there to score by two lengths.
The David Wachman trained Horizon Sky finished second at 4/1 under Wayne Lordan and he was just a short head in front of Sugar Boy in third at 9/2 under Niall McCullagh for Patrick Prendergast.
Winning rider Seamie Heffernan said afterwards: "He had a good run here last week and I would have been disappointed if he was beaten."
The winner holds entries in the National Stakes at the Curragh in September and the 2013 Epsom Derby.
