The progeny of Alhaarth seem to do well with plenty of dig in the ground and his son Mythical Prince certainly got through the soft conditions well in the ERA Oates Auctioneers (QR) Handicap, beating Maal by two and a half lengths.
This fellow was easy enough to back as Bluebyyou Hearthstead Dream and Cloone River all found favour in the market. Mythical Prince was bouncing back from a disappointing effort as favourite thirty four days ago, something his trainer, Noel Meade, put down to a few quick runs in succession.
He said, "I don't know what happened him the last day, maybe it came too soon after his Sligo win which wasn't long after his previous run. I was very disappointed with him at Leopardstown but he did it well there and Nina (Carberry) was great as usual. She is different league to a lot of the amateurs."
Meade was gaining compensation for The Fist Of God s eclipse in the opener. (EM)
