My Murphy pounces on the line Robbie Power got a tremendous finishing burst from My Murphy to get up on the line to beat Marasonnien and Ruby Walsh by a neck at Navan. Walsh had his charge to the fore in the testing two mile seven furlong novice hurdle race and looked to have enough in reserve after kicking on after the last. However, Power and My Murphy (11/1) came with a late flourish up the hill to get up. Tom Horn, coming off a break of 259 days, was given a patient ride by Paul Carberry but after making headway two out could find nothing extra coming up the steep finish and came in third, 11 lengths away. Odds on favourite Folsom Blue (9/10) kept on at one pace to finish fourth of the seven runners. “He's a tough horse and wants every yard of the trip,” successful jockey Robbie Power said. “He'll be a better horse over fences next year as he jumps hurdles like a fence. Liam said he can race lazy and to get him travelling but to be fair to him he travelled well throughout. “He got done for a bit of toe when Ruby kicked down the hill but when he met the rising ground he stayed on again.” Michael Graham
