Johnny Murtagh enjoyed many memorable days as a jockey in the colours of Michael Tabor and trained a winner for the Coolmore partners at Fairyhouse today when Ever A Dream recorded an impressive victory.
Danny Sheehy got the leg up on the daughter of Australia who wore first time cheekpieces in the mile-and-a-half handicap.
She bounced out in front and never looked like catching, stretching clear in the closing stages to record a comprehensive eight-length success at odds of 7/2.
It was a double on the card for trainer and jockey who had also combined to take the opener with Hapipi Go Lucky
Sheehy said afterwards:- “She's been working well at home and it's madness that she hasn't got her head in front until today.
“Cheekpieces were a big help. She jumped out, got her own way in front and enjoyed herself.
“She kept finding to the line, she never stopped. There is no issue with trip or stamina.
“I'm very grateful to Johnny for the opportunity. It's great to ride a winner in these colours, it's my first time putting them on and I'm delighted.”
