Murphy and Carroll double up in Sligo Sionnach Eile built on two promising placed efforts with a victory in the concluding maiden on Sligo's card. The 7/4 favourite raced close to the pace in the extended mile and a quarter race and made his move to pass the leader two and a half furlongs out. He came under a drive from Gary Carroll as he came to the home bend but kept finding despite Ballinlough Gale moving into close attendance. The leader was ridden over a furlong out and had his closest pursuer beaten off with 100 yards left. He passed the post a length and three quarters clear of Ballinlough Gale (5/2). Shedini showed improvement in third at 14/1, beaten four and quarter lengths by the victor. This gave Carroll and trainer Joseph Murphy a double on the card as they also scored with Herb Of Grace (16/1). Joseph Murphy, Jr. said: "He's a nice horse. He probably has a fair bit to go before he'll be as good as his half-brother (seven-time winner Swamp Fox) but he's going the right way about it. "We'll see how he handles Galway at some point. "He's still a very green horse so we'll have to run him in a couple of handicaps to harden him up a bit. "He has jumped a hurdle, but he's a late June foal so we purposely didn't go juvenile hurdling with him. It (hurdling) will be in the campaign at some point." Additional reporting by Mark Nunan
