Mick Mulvany is hoping for a nice run from Duke Of Leggagh on his hurdling debut at Navan this afternoon.

The Tough As Nails gelding has won twice on the Flat, including an impressive handicap victory at this venue back in March 2023.

He returned from a break when running on the level at Galway late last month. The four-year-old is a 25/1 shot for the opening Kilberry Pub & Kitchen Maiden Hurdle.

Mulvany revealed:- "We tickled a little bit with his wind and it took longer to get him back.

"We decided we'll go hurdling with him, he jumps good enough now. The only thing is he would be jumping more French hurdles than the ones he will face tomorrow. He is good and accurate, but will still be a little bit green.

"He likes the track, but the ground couldn't be nearly heavy enough for him. We'll give him a spin tomorrow, though, and, if he's there, he'll be trying for his life."
