Mullins and Townend combine for bumper win! Amateur jockey Jody Townend registered her fourth career success, and more importantly her first for new boss Willie Mullins, when landing the concluding EBF (Mares)(Ladies Pro/AM) Bumper at Roscommon today on the Champion Trainer's Supreme Trix. Townend is a sister to Mullins' former Champion Jockey Paul Townend and having partnered his first winner for Ted Walsh on Minnie Dahill at Bellewstown last Wednesday, today completed a memorable double with Supreme Trix, which won despite wandering, through greeness, in the closing stages. Townend later said “I starting doing a day-a-week last August or September and last week I started doing three days so it's nice to be getting those sort of opportunities. “The whole way around she was green but when she learns about racing she'l be a lot better.” Quotes from Gary Carson
