Mullins' eyeing Galway Hurdle with Clarach There was a Mullins double at Sligo today but not from the usual suspects as trainer Tony Mullins supplied both his son Danny Mullins' winners, completed with Clarach's win in the Corner House Bar Ballymoate Mares Handicap Hurdle. Ridden from off the pace, Mullins Jnr produced Clarach with her challenge at a very late stage and jumping the last, had plenty to do to win. Mullins kept his cool remarkably well to wait for a gap to open on the run-in and the daughter of Beneficial just needed a strong 'shove' to the line to record a three parts of a length win over Rising Time. Afterwards trainer Tony Mullins said “Clarach is a grand mare but I was worried about the ground for her. “That's the second mares' hurdle she has won, she won one at Galway last year and we might have a try at the Galway Hurdle now. She'll probably go for a Flat race before then and we're all anxious to have a shot at the big one!”
