What a leap from Moving On at the last© Photo Healy Racing
Moving On gained due reward for his consistency by landing the third victory of his life and his first since December 2008 when hacking up in the www.ballinroberacecourse.com Handicap Hurdle under Adrian Heskin.
The chestnut son of Shahrastani had his race well won before the last but a great leap here cemented the success and he crossed the line eight and a half lengths to the good from Markey Cee
Pat Lynch trains Moving On for his owner/breeder Jim Madden and he was today having his sixth outing for the County Clare handler.
An emotional Lynch, who lost his teenage daughter Patricia in a riding accident at the end of 2010 said: "I only took my licence back out this year. He's a grand horse, he's 100 per cent game and he loves racing.
"It may have been an 80 to 95 rated handicap but it was the Gold Cup to us. It's been a tough time." (EM)
