Micro destroys handicap rivals on return to action Micro Manage looks to have a very bright future after an effortless success in the TRM's 'Calphormin' Handicap at the Curragh this evening. Willie Mullins' charge, the wide margin winner of a Tipperary maiden last October, went to post an even-money shot on his return to action. Donnacha O'Brien's mount travelled sweetly behind the leader Yonkers in the mile-and-a-half contest before cruising into the lead passing the two furlong pole. The Rip Van Winkle colt soon asserted and was asked to quicken away over a furlong out, going on to post a 12-length winning margin. Assistant David Casey said afterwards:- “It's great that he won as well as he did. We always thought a fair bit of him but were worried about the ground. “He's a big horse and hits it heavy, we think soft ground will be much better for him. “He does all the right stuff at home and hopefully it's onwards and upwards. “There is no plan, today was the plan, and all Willie said was to tell him to mind him and not to break him down. “We were so worried about the ground being so dry and wouldn't have run but for the rain the other day. “I think he'll improve plenty for it. Donnacha liked him and he's ridden plenty of good ones. “He's a brilliant jumper and schooled only last week. I've schooled him myself and he even jumped as a two-year-old. He's as good a jumper as we've ever had as a three-year-old.”
