Review TRAMORE 2ND JUN

John Oxx and Niall McCullagh teamed up to record a double with two Aga Khan-owned fillies at Tramore on Saturday.

Taralaya (9/10 to 2/5f) was backed as if defeat was out of the question in the 1m6f maiden and duly rewarded those who took the skimpy prices.

McCullagh sent his mount up to challenge long-time leader Winners Toast over three-furlongs out and she asserted before the home turn, stretching clear for a six-length verdict.

The daughter of Kahyasi is likely to try her hand in handicap company now.

Daruliyya made every post a winning one in the 1m4f fillies maiden, kicking on before the turn.

She carried her head awkwardly in the closing stages but still had enough in the tank to see off the challenge of First Symphony by three-parts-of-a-length.

Shaimaa (5/4f) was a warm-order in the opening Ladies maiden and ran out a cosy winner for first-season trainer John Hanlon.

Adrienne Foley sent her mount on turning for home and she always looked in command as Dand Nee finished well to get within three-parts-of-a-length.

'She done it nicely and is improving the whole time,' said 'Shark' Hanlon.

'We'll go to Galway with her. She'll have a run over hurdles in three weeks time and we'll see how she goes - she could go that way. She has her job done on the Flat and is a well-bred filly.'

Billy Lee gave Certainlei a finely judged ride as she ran out a cosy winner of the fillies handicap.

Tim Doyle's charge was produced to lead just inside the furlong pole and she had plenty up her sleeve as she posted a three-length verdict over Charlene.

'It's great to get a win with her. She has been a little bit frustrating, as we know she has ability but things have not worked out for her,' said Doyle.

'She did it well under a big weight. She's a well bred filly, out of Romanylei - who was a very good mare, and has breeding value now.'

Gerry Keane's decision to let Monahullan Prince take his chance in the 1m6f handicap paid dividends as he ran out a game length-and-a-quarter victor.

'I wasn't going to come. I thought there was a race for him at Wexford next Friday but he is too highly rated for that now,' said Keane.

' I didn't think he'd handle the track as he has run here a few times before. We'll keep him fresh for somewhere like Galway.'

Joanna Morgan continued her red hot form when Genuine Easy was produced in the straight by Amy Parsons to land the concluding 1m4f handicap.

Emlach Star showed her rivals a clean pair of heels in the Gerard P Geraghty Memorial Handicap, making all for an easy five-length victory under Martin Lane.
