Review BALLINROBE 31ST MAY

Dotty Lord showed great guts to land the Cunningham Londis Handicap Chase at Ballinrobe.

The Cecil Ross-trained gelding looked held turning for home as Magic Mark held sway but he battled back gamely to land the spoils by a length under Shane McCann.

The winner had went to the head of affairs with a circuit to go but appeared second best when Magic Mark leapt to the front three out. He refused to admit defeat, however, and clawed back that rival despite some sketchy jumping.

Alpha Royale had it much easier in the Ballinrobe Tool & Plant Hire Maiden Hurdle when recording an impressive six-length margin over Hard To Credit.

Charles Byrnes' gelding jumped into the lead at the second last and pulled right away in the straight, under Davy Russell.

Shayrazan also got off the mark in good style when landing the Ba Morley Memorial Maiden under Christy Geoghegan.

The James Leavy-trained gelding led entering the straight and stayed on well to comfortably hold Dictation by two-and-a-half lengths.

Coral Dawn proved too good for the well-fancied Flight Of Earls in the Finley Mace Maxol Handicap. Declan McDonogh produced the mare to lead inside the final furlong and record a length-and-a-half success.

The opening Western People Handicap looked a tricky affair and 20/1 shot Attanagh claimed the spoils while Ciara's Surprise returned the same price when landing the Treacy's Agfa Image Centre Handicap Hurdle.
