Meade & O'Hare continue winning run with Famous Noel Meade and Mark O'Hare continued their tremendous run of form, as they took the last at Tipperary this evening, the p2p.ie The Irish Point To Point Website (C & G) Point-To-Point Flat Race, with Famous Saying. Meade and O'Hare have were recording their fourth bumper success since Sunday with this son of Fame And Glory. Second in a point-to-point at Belharbour in February for Pat Doyle, the four-year-old gelding was subsequently sold for 50,000 pounds. Sent off a 5/2 chance this evening, he was settled in mid-division, closing on the leaders over four furlongs out. He was ridden to challenge from the two furlong pole, and soon got to the front, keeping on well under pressure inside the final furlong to score by four lengths in the colours of owner Robert Watson. The 7/4 favourite Billaway finished second under Patrick Mullins for his father Willie, while Minella Beat was a further three and a half lengths back in third for Johnny Barry and John Nallen at 11/1. Meade said afterwards: "I wanted to buy the horse who beat him in his point to point but he made too much. "We'll give him a break now for the summer and go hurdling next winter. "I've one bumper horse to run tomorrow night and have a couple more left to run. The horse that won in Down Royal will go for a winners' bumper as he is more of a summer horse."
