McDonogh educates Nuestra Alegria Nuestra Alegria kept on stoutly past David Wachman’s 4/5 favourite Burren Trail to score in the one mile maiden at Limerick. Burren Trail appeared set to get punters off to a flyer as the Shamardal filly led inside the final furlong under Wayne Lordan, but she had no answer in the closing stages to Nuestra Alegria (10/1) who came by to win by three parts of a length. Jessica Harrington’s Banker Burke (7/1) took third with Fran Berry in the plate. Declan McDonogh was on board the winner and said: “She was with Kevin Prendergast last year. She has done well and has filled out and got stronger. “They went a little bit slow for her. She didn’t realise what she was meant to do until she got a few reminders and she stayed on well.” Edward Harty’s three-year-old filly was improving on her debut sixth of 12 in a seven furlong maiden at Fairyhouse on June 5.
