McCann sees good future for Dundalk winner Mutadaawel Title sponsors for the dual race night at Dundalk are Bar One Bookmakers and after getting a 'result' in their own sprint handicap earlier with a 12/1 victor, they got another when 11/1 shot Mutadaawel triumphed in the mile maiden for the four-year-olds and upwards. Easy-to-back from his morning price, Mutadaawel scored on outing number two for owner Rita Shah and trainer Anthony McCann. Under Oisin Orr Mutadaawel got to and beat well-backed front-runner Stranagone, close home, by half a length. “He did it well, he's still very green and immature,” said McCann. “On his first run he missed the break. Oisin said that it took him a long time to get him pulled up there. “He was only getting going and when he hit top gear he did it well. I was very happy with him. “He was a cheap horse that I bought for the Shahs and it's great. “I knew he had improved and the horses are in good form so hopefully we can keep them at it. We'll see what mark he gets now. “I don't think I've had a horse as good as him at this early stage before. The lads love him at home and we'll have to see where we go now. “He's a nice horse and we'll look after him. “I could even step him back to seven as although it looks like he was staying on, when the penny really drops with him he has plenty of speed.” (GC & EM)
