May Call You Back is certainly one of the lesser lights in Willie Mullins’ yard but scored on her first start for the champion trainer in division one of the Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Handicap Chase at Tipperary.

The easy-to-back 7/2 chance reeled in the front-running Itsalonglongroad early in the straight and got the better of Added Bonus on the run-in.

Brian Hayes’ mount kept on well in the closing stages to beat that rival by a length and a half with Itsalonglongroad weakening to finish a further nine and a half lengths adrift in third.

The 15/8 favourite Ernie From Nurney could make no impression in the straight finishing fourth.

Hayes said, “She guessed at a few early on but she is a good jumper and has loads of scope but is just not that street smart yet. You would be happy the way she finished.

“Hopefully she’ll keep improving.”
