MUCUS FOUND IN THREE VALLEYS

Three Valleys, a soundly beaten third behind One Cool Cat in the Phoenix Stakes, was found to have mucus in his trachea after a veterinary examination.

Trainer Roger Charlton commented afterwards, ´Richard (Hughes) said he knew after a furlong at Royal Ascot that he was going to win but he knew after a furlong today that he was beaten.´

Another British raider Lucky Pipit was a well beaten 12th of 13 behind Necklace in the Debutante Stakes, and jockey Michael Hills reported that she got upset before the seven furlongs fillies race and misssed the break.

Necklace was installed the 12/1 favourite with Cashmans for the 2004 Oaks, and is 25/1 with the Cork firm for the 1,000 Guineas.
