MOSCOW EXPRESS HEADS FOR GALWAY PLATE The weights for the Compaq Galway Plate were released today, and already punters will be licking their lips at the prospect of a `handicap certainty`.Moscow Express, winner of the `Plate` in 1999, took the two and a half miles conditions chase for the second successive year on the opening evening of the four day Killarney July meeting. However Frances Crowley`s charge only just prevailed by a shorthead from Monty`s Pass, and the latter will reoppose at Galway on 25lb better terms.Crowley confirmed afterwards that Moscow Express and Private Peace, a further four lengths back in third here, will both head for Galway. Cork trainer Jimmy Mangan, who saddled Stroll Home to win the Plate in 1997, is looking forward to taking the pair on again with Monty`s Pass saying: `He`ll head straight for the Plate, and hopefully the man on his back (Paul Carberry) will stay there`.alanmagee@ireland.com
