Lynch back on a winner Back from a lengthy injury absence just before Cheltenham, Andrew Lynch returned to the number one spot for the first time since last August when winning the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Mares Maiden Hurdle at Tramore on Little Folke. A demoted first past the post from Clonmel back in September, Little Folke made short work of the opposition here to justify odds of 5/6 by six and a half lengths from Gi Jayne. "I'm delighted, to be honest I hadn't done a whole lot with her. We just said we'd give her the run and see how she'd get on," said winning trainer Henry de Bromhead. "She did it really nicely. We have a few runners today, but a lot of them are coming back from breaks so we will see how they get on. "She is a mare I love, she is from the family of Special Tiara and my uncle David (Young, winning owner) bred her. I think her dam is a half-sister to Special Tiara. "She is a dinger, a really nice mare. I'd say she will jump a fence in time, but we will stick hurdling for now and try and get a bit of black-type with her. "I'm delighted to give Andrew his first winner back, he had her jumping beautifully." The Stewards spoke to Seamus Fahey, trainer of The Girl Drawer, concerning the conduct of this horse who was reluctant to race. The Stewards advised Seamus Fahey, that, a repeat performance may render his charge liable to suspension. Rachael Blackmore, rider of Michael's Bird trained by Ms. M.M. Gannon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount never travelled. R.P. Treacy, rider of The Girl Drawer trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount plunged on the way to the start and raced reluctantly. (DM & EM)
