Under topweight of ten stone, the 10/3 favourite Lord Massusus landed the Dillon Marshall Property Consultants Handicap to make it four wins from his last five starts.

Gary Carroll ’s mount tracked the leaders but was caught in a pocket from halfway until being switched right for racing room a furlong out. He quickened up smartly to foil Cash Or Crypto and Polar Bear by half a length and three parts of a length.

“We're delighted with him. We had him in the Tetrarch but I thought it might be a bit too hot for him,” said winning trainer Joe Murphy.

“He got 3lb for the last day so I said we'd come here. We'll make an entry for the Jersey now, seven would be ideal.

“Gary said he got him out of trouble, they all got first run on him.

“Six, seven or a mile makes no difference to him, he's a good horse. He's very versatile, soft or good.

“There aren't many options before Ascot. We have a premier handicap at the Curragh but he's going to be around 105 now so I suppose we'll go Listed now, whatever is available.”
