Leopardstown ground drying out A dry night and a strong breeze has seen the ground improve slightly at Leopardstown, where the four-day Christmas Festival meeting kicks off at 12.20 this afternoon on a yielding to soft surface. Limerick also starts their four-day meeting today with the ground still described as heavy, and a seven race card commences this afternoon at 12.35pm. There will be fresh ground available on the hurdle track at Greenmount Park for the remaining days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Racing also takes place this afternoon at Down Royal (beginning at 12.30pm) with the ground at the northern venue remaining heavy, soft in places. The forecast is to be dry both today and tomorrow, with strong winds forecast today.
