Latest update on British jump racing Jump racing fans across the water will have to wait until Saturday at the earliest before seeing any action after tomorrow's meeting at Bangor became the latest victim of the freezing temperatures. Clerk of the course Andrew Morris inspected the track at 8am and was forced to call off the meeting after another cold night. He said: "The temperature reached minus 4C overnight and it is still minus 2C now. "We're not forecast to get above 2C from now until the end of racing tomorrow. There is also the threat of snow so there is nothing in the forecast to suggest we have any conceivable chance of racing." Today's scheduled National Hunt meetings in Britain at Doncaster, Huntington and Taunton have already fallen victim to the cold snap. Fingers are firmly crossed that Newbury's big meeting on Saturday will go ahead, although the threat of snow is an added concern to parts of the track being frozen. Meanwhile Kempton will host a "bumpers for jumpers" meeting on their all-weather track tomorrow after the scheduled jumps meeting had to be abandoned. Clerk of the course Barney Clifford had planned to inspect at 8am but after temperatures dropped below freezing again overnight, he was able to make an earlier call. He said: "We went down to minus 1.5C overnight and while it was not as cold as forecast, we are frozen in places. "The forecast offers little hope of jump racing going ahead so we have activated the 'bumpers for jumpers' card. "There is the threat of snow tonight, we're on the edge of that so were unsure about the accumulations and the temperature is due to drop to minus 3C. "We could possibly get one or two centimetres but with the air temps below zero, it should be easy enough to move."
