Lady Bresil gives de Bromhead an across-the-card double Lady Bresil (5/4) was always holding the favourite Maroto in the Fourmilewater Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel and gave Henry de Bromhead an across-the-card treble on the day. She was always to the fore under Rachael Blackmore and despite edging to her left two out, got away from it well and had her pursuers in trouble. Maroto (6/5f) got going over the last and stayed on along the run-in as he tried to reel the winner in. He got as close as three-parts of a length, however, the winner had scored comfortably by then. Zulu Mike came in four and a-half lengths further back in third at 10/1. De Bromhead said: "I'm delighted for the Holians and she is a lovely mare who jumped well, despite jumping a bit left. Rachael said she was still a bit green in front and hopefully can come on plenty for it. "She came to us a few months ago, she has tipped away nicely and we went to a racecourse gallop at Thurles thinking she would either go on break or have a run. She worked well so we said we'd run her. "I haven't thought beyond today, but she will jump fences eventually." Lady Bresil moved to de Bromhead after finishing fourth in a Navan maiden hurdle in December for Peter Fahey. Emotivo also won the opening fillies' juvenile handicap hurdle at Cheltenham in the hands of Darragh O'Keeffe. Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
