Kings Time appears to have progressed from a gelding operation and opened his account at the first time of asking in handicap company when taking the Hurling For Cancer Moves To Netwatch Cullen Park Carlow August 21st 2023 Handicap at Leopardstown.

The Jessica Harrington-trained son of Exceed And Excel was in the money on all three previous maiden starts and was sent off a 5/1 chance here against five rivals. Encosta made a bold bid from the front and was only reeled in by Rumbled Again well inside the final furlong who in turn was collared by the Shane Foley-ridden Kings Time close home.

Harrington’s daughter and assistant trainer Kate said, “He’d a very good run the first day in Cork and was a bit disappointing since so we gelded him after the last day.

“He was off a nice enough mark today so hopefully it’s onwards and upwards. He’s a big boy and a galloping track is essential to him. He’s a big striding horse and did everything right today.

“Hopefully he’ll be a nice four-year-old as well. I think in time with more racing he’ll get a mile.”
