Keatley on the mark with Northern Sky Classic winning trainer Adrian Keatley was on the mark in the Audi Sligo Apprentice Handicap at Sligo today, winning with the Robbie Dolan ridden Northern Sky. The son of Danehill Dancer was produced from off the pace by Dolan to lead on the outer a furlong out and in the end Northern Sky scored a two lengths win over Miss Ballygally. The winner was the heavily backed 6/4 beaten favourite (finished second) at Hamilton when last seen in May but in complete contrast today, was friendless in the market having opened at 9/4 this morning before returning a 9/2 chance. After today’s win, Keatley stated “I'm happy with him as he was disappointing in Hamilton but has repaid the boys today. “Robbie (Dolan) went for the jugular and it worked out. “We'll see if there is something for him in Galway as the lads will be up there for a couple of days. “He has a terrific pedigree and I bought him out of David Wachman's last October.” By Tom Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
