Joe back with a win for Lyons Joe Eile made a successful return for Ger Lyons when claiming the five furlong handicap at Navan. The seven-year-old had spent last year in the care of John Quinn in England but has returned home to Lyons this season, for whom he previously won six times. Colin Keane got a lovely run on the rail on the 10/1 shot and he hit the front over a furlong from home. He kept on well in the closing stages to post a half length success. In Salutem just edged the second by a short-head from Bubbly Bellini. The stewards had a look after the winner ducked right close home, slightly hampering Bubbly Bellini. "That's nice. He was over in England for a year and dropped a bit in the ratings," said Lyons. "He didn't win over there and they tend to drop them quicker than they do over here. That was the winning of the race. "He had been working well at home but I thought he might come on for it and that maybe the five here might be a bit sharp for him. "Hopefully he'll be a good sprinter this year for the lads who own him from Clane."
