Jockey Bill Lee completed a Roscommon maiden-races double today, steering the Willie McCreery-trained, Joya Burns-owned Counterculture (4/5f) to win the Murray Ambulance Fillies & Mares Maiden.

Lee had earlier won on the Paddy Twomey-traned 1/3 favourite J'adore Chris and on Counterculture, made all as the pair comfortably scored from Clever and Cute.

McCreery commented “she's a grand, big, honest filly and she loved the ease in the ground. Billy gave her an uncomplicated ride, he just jumped out and let her use her stride and she enjoyed it. I thought she was doing her best work towards the end.

“It was a good opportunity for her, she's a straightforward filly and tries very hard. We'll try and get black-type before the end of the year with her.”
