Jessqueen stepped up on her recent debut effort to run out a gutsy winner of the concluding Peppermill Restaurant Nenagh Fillies INH Flat Race.

Sixth at Punchestown on her initial outing, the Barry Fitzgerald-trained filly came forward from that experience and was a totally different proposition here.

Prominent from the outset, she was challenged by Cool Cherry early in the straight but dug deep to see off that rival and run out a good winner.

“She had a good run in April but it rained heavily that day and that probably went against her,” said Barry Fitzgerald.

“She's probably a stronger filly with the summer off. She was fit and ready to go today.

“The lads that own her work in Willie's (Mullins) and they come in and ride out for me at lunchtime.

“Adam Connolly looks after Galopin Des Champs and Kieran Callaghan is also involved. It's a big buzz for them and they could all be sacked in the morning!

“She strengthened up an awful lot and I was very confident today with the dry weather, the ground was nice for her today. Ben gave her a super ride.

“They'll probably sell her now, that was the plan. Hopefully she'll go on and win another race or two for someone else.”
