Jakarta Jazz was the one for money in the opener at Naas on Saturday but punters were made to sweat as she got up close home to score by a short head.
Kevin Prendergast 's charge was backed down from 3/1 to 13/8f and was produced by Chris Hayes to throw down a challenge inside the final furlong.
But Enchanted Evening proved a tough nut to crack only giving way in the last strides. Handsome Batchelor who made the running, rather threw away his chance by hanging badly right from two furlongs out.
Prendergast was pleased to get a win into his filly: "It might be a furlong too short and for an auction maiden you wouldn't have thought it would be so hot."
"We'll see if we can find a winners of one and try and upgrade her a bit."
